John McNamara, 70, of Grants Pass died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at his home. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ron Nelson presiding. He was born Sept. 12, 1938, in Chicago to John and Emily McNamara. In his early adulthood, he owned and operated a cabinet business in Chicago. In 1974, he married Cheryl Suzanne "Cherie" (Rudd) Polster, who died March 23, 1995. After selling his business, he moved with his wife and her two children to Grants Pass. He worked as a mobile home sales representative at Hidden Valley Homes. He worked in mobile home sales until his semi-retirement in early 2003. He enjoyed holiday dinners, visiting his grandchildren, going to Seven Feathers Casino, and collecting quirky articles to share with others. He especially enjoyed taking long drives and spending time with his companion, Natalie. Survivors include four children, Tim, Jill, Terry and Chris; two stepchildren, Kevin Polster of Grants Pass, and Sue St Germain of Williams; and several grandchildren. A daughter, Patti McNamara, died before him.
