Jeffrey Mark Adams was born April 4, 1958 in Seaside, Oregon. He died May 25, 2014 in Sunny Valley, Oregon. Jeff lived in Seattle, Washington most of his school years. He left high school in 1975 to join the Army in nearby Fort Lewis. Jeff was involved in the post Vietnam War cleanup and also served in Germany for two years. He received training as a heavy wheel vehicle mechanic earning the rank of Motor Pool Sergeant. He married Cheryl Pfeiffer of Seattle, Washington early in military service. Jeff (aka Skeet) received an honorable discharge in 1982 at Fort Ord, California. He moved to Hollister, California and worked on dairy farms and did some Saddle Bronc Riding in rodeo events. After he and Cheryl divorced, he married Helen Lopez from Hollister. During this time Jeff returned to diesel truck repair and started his own business. Eventually, he moved to Sonora, California, and worked at a cement and gravel trucking firm as a working supervisor. Jeff and Helen divorced at this time. When diagnosed with cancer in 1997, he moved to Grants Pass for medical treatment from the Roseburg VA. Skeet married Susan Allton during his recovery. He held various jobs including 5 years as a Millwright at the sawmill in Glendale, Oregon. Jeff built a portable sawmill in 2010 for a home-based logging and milling business. Previous jobs had included driving log truck in California and in Oregon. He lived in Sunny Valley on Placer Road off the electric grid for many years. Jeff and Susan divorced. He then met and planned to marry Joanne Fulton. Skeet loved many things including fishing, sailing, playing guitar, and enjoying his dogs. Survivers include three children, Jessica Brown of Everett, Washington, Kyle Adams and Westley Adams, both of Hollister, California, a step-daughter Joella Carley of Sanger, Calif., a granddaughter RileyAnn, step-grandsons Justin and Brett Neill, a half-brother Jimmy Adams of Clarkston, Wash., his parents, Philip Adams of McMinnville, Oregon, and Joan White, of Salem, Oregon, and his fiance Joanne Fulton. A graveside service with military honors will be held at the new Roseburg National Cemetery on Monday, June 30, at 1:00 PM.
