James Steger

James Steger, 74 of Grants Pass died Monday, January 3, 2011 at his home. Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 8th, 11:00 AM at Shan Creek Community Church Contributions: The ALS Association Oregon Chapter 700 NE Multnomah St # 870, Portland, OR 97232 He was born on January 31, 1936 in Huntington Beach, California to Roy and Gertrude Steger. He graduated High school in Phoenix, Arizona. He was an electrical contractor in the industrial, commercial and residential fields for 25 years retiring in 2007. James married Joan Carver on June 26, 1992 in Phoenix, Arizona. They moved from Prescott, Arizona to Grants Pass in 2003. He loved golf, hiking and was an avid reader. He was a member of Shan Creek Community Church where he served as trustee. In addition to his wife Joan Steger survivors include four children: Son, Bob Steger of Denver, CO; daughter Terri Steger of Phoenix, AZ; sons, A.J. Steger and Chris Steger both of San Diego, CA; two brothers, Charlie Steger of Cottonwood, AZ and Ron Steger of San Diego, CA; sister Carol Degenstien of Globe, Arizona; 5 grandchildren.
