James Dale Plaster, 79 of Grants Pass passed away December 10, 2012 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center in Grants Pass, Oregon. Services have been held at Eagle Point National Cemetery. James was born on July 22, 1933 in Mansfield, Missouri to George and Minnie Plaster. He attended a school that only had 8 students including the teacher ranging in ages from 1st thru 8th grade. He attended High School in Mansfield Missouri also which was just up the hill from his grade school. James served in the U.S. Marines and then moved back to Missouri and worked as a truck driver for a year before moving to California where he began working as an auto mechanic. He was the second to work at Dotson Auto's which later became Nissan Dealership. After 14 years James retired from Nissan in San Juan Capistrano, California. He moved to Lancaster, California and worked at Avenue M Automotive for 2 years before he retired again to travel. On January 6, 1991 he married Diana Gean Speer in Las Vegas, Nevada. James and his wife took up traveling in their 36ft. motorhome for 10 years visiting Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Arizona, California, Mississippi, Tennessee and Oregon. In 1996 they moved permanently to Rogue River, Oregon and later Grants Pass, Oregon. James enjoyed working on automobile's and working with wood. In addition to his wife, survivors include daughter's, Ann Plaster of Grants Pass, Oregon, Margie Akana of Garden Grove, California and Barbara Sellman of Woodbridge, Virginia; son, James Plaster of El Paso, Texas; brother, Howard Plaster of Mansfield, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Lasiter.
