James Edward Misfeldt, 85, of Grants Pass passed away September 6, 2010, at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. No services are planned at this time. He was born on April 18, 1925 in Eugene, Oregon to George and Daisy Misfeldt. Growing up in Klamath Falls he graduated from Klamath Union High School. After high school he worked for the Oregon road Crew and Southern Pacific Railroad. On July 26, 1943 he entered the United States Marine Corps serving in Okinawa and receiving his honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant on May 1, 1946. He then served in the US Air Force Reserve receiving his discharge as a 1st Lieutenant in March or 1962. James married Marian La Deanne Peterson on June 28, 1949 in Modesto, California Marian preceded James in death on April 13, 2010. Together they moved from Reno to Grants Pass in 2009. He attended Merlin Community Baptist Church. He was a devoted American Patriot, loved watching sports, HD TV and Fox News. He enjoyed Golfing, working in the yard, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his children Robert Misfeldt and Susan Scoggins of Grants Pass; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
