James Vern McLain

James "Jimmy" V. McLain, 77 of Grants Pass passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass, Oregon. Graveside service will be held Friday, September 27, 2013, 1:00 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass, Oregon. His family invites all who knew and cared for Jimmy to attend. He was born on September 7, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan, but had lived most of his life in San Rafael, California and Grants Pass, Oregon. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1954 through 1957. After completing his military service Jimmy attended the Oregon Technical Institute. He was a member of the Boilermakers Union, Local #549 and retired in 2001 after working as a welder for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. and Margaret McLain of Grants Pass and his beloved niece, Karen Menne. He is survived by his sister, Jane Hause of Tombstone, Arizona and nieces Sheila Roley of Medford, Oregon and Janice Adair of Bend, Oregon.
