James Dale Cooper, 47, of Grants Pass died Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, 1:00 PM at Stephens Family Chapel with Pastor Ken Bern Officiating. He was born on January 30, 1964 in Grants Pass to Dale and Pamela Cooper. He graduated from Hidden Valley High School in 1982. James attended Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center in California. For many years he worked as a correctional officer for Ironwood State Prison. In 2005 he returned to Grants Pass from Blythe, California. James enjoyed weight lifting, fishing, motorcycles, cars, camping and horses. Survivors include his daughter Erica Stalker of Rogue River; sister Darcie Worthington of Grants Pass; two brothers Paul & Steve Cooper both of O'Brien, OR; granddaughter Preslie Stalker of Rogue River and his companion Holly Dietz of Grants Pass. He was preceded in death by his parents Pam & Dale Cooper and his grandmother Bertha Armstrong on April 2, 2011
