James S. Arthur

Grants Pass - Dr. James S. Arthur died peacefully at home on Nov. 4, 2014. Dr. Arthur was born in Washington, PA, on September 19, 1922 and attended Washington Jefferson College, and The University of Pittsburgh where he received a Doctorate in Physics. He served in the Army during World War II in France. After graduating from The University of Pittsburgh he worked for Lincoln Laboratory as a research scientist until he retired. He was happily married for over 60 years to Sally M. Frazier prior to her death. Dr. Arthur is survived by a brother Capt. Glen N. Arthur Ret. of Gales Ferry, CT, five children James J. Arthur of Harwich, Ma, Vicki L. Hartman of Loudonville, OH, Gary R. Arthur of Grants Pass, OR, Susan J Munro of Reno, NV and Donald L. Arthur of Harwich, MA. He is also survived 9 Grand Children and 13 Great Grand Children. Services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 2:00 PM at Stephens Family Chapel, 1629 Williams Highway, Grants Pass, Oregon (541) 476-7900. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Washington Cemetery, Washington. PA.
