Leo H. "Jack" Silva, 82, of Grants Pass died Sept. 5, 2008, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 11 at his home. Contributions may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 S.E. Eighth St., Grants Pass, OR 97526. He was born March 12, 1926, in Eureka, Calif., to Cassie and Leo Silva. In 1942, in Carson City, Nev., he married Betty Lou Schilling, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in 1992 from Los Gatos, Calif., where he worked for a concrete company for 37 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and he enjoyed rebuilding classic cars, traveling in his RV, and his home in Grants Pass. In addition to his wife, survivors include three children, Rose Molina of Bend, Jack Silva of Belfair, Wash., and Frank Silva of Grants Pass; four sisters; a brother; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
