Henry Jackson "Jack" Ivy, 90, of Grants Pass died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center. No services are planned. He was born Oct. 19, 1919, in Vanderpool, Texas, to Lem and Bessie Ivy. In his late teens, he tried out ranching in Texas and Arkansas. In the early 1940s, he moved to California and worked in a fruit packing plant. In 1945, he married Virginia Gosnell, who survives. They owned and operated a garage and gas station until 1954, when they moved to Grants Pass. In 1955, he went to work for the Josephine County Road Department, where he worked until his retirement in 1980. He enjoyed Louis L'Amour books, gardening, fishing and traveling throughout the United States. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Dale Ivy of Grants Pass; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
