Jack Feehan

April 27, 1937 — July 11, 2008

Jack Feehan passed away on July 11, 2008, at his home in Grants Pass, with his wife, Susan, and daughter, Nancy, by his side. Born in Los Angeles on April 27, 1937, Jack lived there until 1973. He married Susan on Nov. 13, 1972. After working for Bank of America for 13 years, Jack decided to follow his independent spirit and move to Oregon with his wife, Susan, and their four children. One large U-Haul, four kids and two dogs later they arrived in Oregon in August of 1973 to own and operate a 7-Eleven store. In March of 1975, Jack and Susan bought a small grocery store in Central Oregon. They owned Crescent Country Market until 1981. After their last son graduated from high school in 1981, they moved back to the Portland area to start a printing business which they owned until January of 1998. In 1998 they decided to "retire" and move to Grants Pass. After a short time Jack realized that retirement was not for him. He went to work at the Seven Feathers Casino in August of 2000 where he worked until May 1, 2008, when he retired from the surveillance department. In his spare time Jack enjoyed gardening and dabbling in the stock market, but most of all he was an avid football fan, following the Univerity of Southern California's Trojans, Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams (until they "defected" to St. Louis). Jack enjoyed taking photos of his family and could be seen following his grandchildren around with a video camera. On May 23, 2008, Jack was diagnosed with terminal kidney cancer. He is survived by his wife, Susan; and his eight children, Ted Farr of Salem, Cyndi Farr of Fresno Calif., Nancy Howe of Beaverton, and Scott Feehan of Beaverton. His children from a first marriage are Jim Feehan of Mount Shasta, Calif., Jeff Feehan of Springfield, John Feehan, and Jacki Lewis of Reedsport. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren. A celebration of life will take place later this fall. Remembrances to The American Cancer Society or Lovejoy Hospice of Grants Pass.
