Howard Duane Cook. 84 of Grants Pass passed away, October 20, 2012, at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center in Grants Pass. A celebration of his life with military honors will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012, 11:00 AM at Calvary Chapel 269 W. Harbeck Road, Grants Pass, Oregon with Pastor Denny Stahl officiating Private interment at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Contributions in lieu of flowers: Gospel Rescue Mission He was born on April 30, 1928 in Jackson, Michigan to Laverne and Moorine Cook; Howard served in the United States Navy from March 6, 1946 until his honorable discharge on January 9, 1948. On August 11, 1951 in Waterford, Michigan he married Donna Beals who survives. Howard worked from 1950 until his retirement as an electrician and Electrical Design Engineer in 1983. After his retirement they moved to Grants Pass from Santa Ana, California. He was a member of Calvary Chapel in Grants Pass. Howard was a jack-of-all-trades he enjoyed working with his hands woodworking and carpentry. He built his home in Grants Pass from the ground up and also assisting with the remodel of Calvary Chapel's new location. Howard also enjoyed traveling and gardening. In addition to his wife survivors include two sons Reg Cook of Murphy, Oregon and Gary Cook of Hemet, California; 3 brothers Eugene Cook of Prescott, AZ, David Cook of Michigan and Dean Cook of Temecula, CA; sister Phyllis Walsh of Missouri; 1 grandchild. His brother Douglas Cook preceded him in death.
