Helen Pitts

Helen Pitts, 84, of Grants Pass died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at her home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery, with Glen Litwiller, pastor of Edgewater Christian Fellowship, officiating. Pitts was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Los Angeles to Alex and Margie Burnett. In May 1945, in Ely, Nev., she married Deward Pitts, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in 1986 from Southern California. She was a member of River Valley Community Church, where she attended Joy Class for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her flower garden and collecting teddy bears. In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Joel Pitts of Grants Pass; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
