Helen Diana Huerta, 89, of Grants Pass passed away April 14, 2010 at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 PM at Stephens Family Chapel with Interment at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, California Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to Edgewater Christian Fellowship (Building Fund), 1701 NE 6th, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526 Helen was born on May 3, 1920 in Royalton, New York to John and Ida (Mittlestadt) Raduns. She had 3 brothers and 4 sisters. She married Clifford Thorburn in 1950 and they later divorced in 1962, he survives. She married Sid Huerta in 1964 in Pasadena, CA he passed away in October of 1995. Helen lived in various locations throughout the United States as an Air Force wife before settling in Pasadena and Glendora, CA in the 1950âs. She started out her working career as âRosie the Riveterâ during WWII then the rest of her life in waitressing and food service and retired in 1996. She moved to Grants Pass from California in 1996. Helen volunteered for 14 years on Saturday mornings at Highland House until her death. She attended Edgewater Christian Fellowship where she was active in a Home Fellowship Bible Study. Helen loved to do Word Search puzzles, daily devotions and visiting with friends and family. Survivors include her son Miles Thorburn of Grants Pass; step-daughters, Phylliss Edwards and Frances Lashbrook both of Southern California; sister Ida Kane, Medina, NY; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
