Heidi Marie Wallace

April 5, 1966 — July 7, 2013

Heidi Marie Wallace, 47 of Grants Pass, Oregon passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at her home after a lengthy battle with bone cancer. She was born on April 5, 1966 in Santa Clara, California to German immigrants Arno and Brigitta Hindemit. In 1977 the Hindemit family moved to southern Oregon where Heidi attended Lincoln Savage Middle School and Hidden Valley High School. On September 14, 1981 she gave her hand in marriage to Steven Scott Wallace in Houston, Texas. Heidi had a passion for serving people evidenced by every life decision she made. In 1988 she completed her AA degree in "Women's Ministries" from Pacific Coast Bible College in San Dimas, California. Afterwards Heidi, with her husband, served as youth ministers at Kelview Heights Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. In 1992, with her young family, Heidi joined the church planting ministry of United World Mission of Charlotte, North Carolina and began serving as missionaries in Moscow, Russia. Before her illness rendered her incapacitated, Heidi worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant at the Birthing Center of Three Rivers Community Hospital. It was here where Heidi lovingly served the needs of those rejoicing in the miracle of life as well as the mourning of a life gone too soon. She, along with her husband, were members of River Valley Community Church and served in the young adults ministry, often opening up their home for meetings, meals, and fellowship. Heidi was a proud wife, mother, and grandmother. She was happiest when her home was full of family and friends. In addition to her husband Heidi is survived by daughters Cassidy Zietlow and Bethany Wallace both of Grants Pass, Oregon, her son Tyler Wallace of San Diego, California. A granddaughter, Ellie Taylin Joy Wallace and a grandson Kirin Zietlow. Sisters Jeannie Amarillas of Rogue River, Oregon and Linda Hindemit of San Ramon, California. A brother, Robert Hindemit of Grants Pass, Oregon. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends and colleagues who played an important role in her life. Heidi knew well and modeled beautifully that the joy in life did not come from material possessions or wealth but instead in the building of relationships and in seeing God's mercy and grace extended for the salvation of others. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013, 11:00 AM at River Valley Community Church in Grants Pass, Oregon. Reception to follow. Memory donations may be made to kidsinuganda.com c/o River Valley Community Church.
