Harold E. Lyons, 69 of Rogue River passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 at his home in Grants Pass. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, October 28th, at 10:00AM, Faith Lutheran Church, Rogue River, Oregon Harold was born on February 10, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa to Harold and Margaret Lyons. He graduated from Compton High School in Compton, California in 1958. Harold served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1968. He married Linda Jean Billings on July 24, 1965 in Long Beach, California. Harold worked for the Water Department in Buena Park, California from 1965 until 1979 when he moved to Southern Oregon. In 1980 he started work for the Water Department with the City of Medford. Harold retired in 2003. Harold was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Rogue River, Rooster Crow Square Dance Club, Evans Valley Fire Department #6 and The Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, boating, water skiing and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Morgan of Tigard, OR; three sons, Robert Lyons, Tim Lyons and Mike Lyons all of Rogue River; father, Harold L. Lyons of Huntington Beach, CA; two sisters, Linda K. Lyons of Santa Anna, CA and Karen Dykema of Cypress, CA; two grandchildren. His mother Margaret Lyons passed away before him.
