Gloria Ann "Yaya" Sherman

Gloria "Yaya" Ann Sherman, 73, of Selma OR collected her wings and began her journey to heaven on March 15, 2012. Gloria's final days were surrounded by her family and friends. Gloria was born in Chicago Illinois, November 26, 1938. She met and married her husband, Wilford "Papa""Bill" Sherman, who preceded her in death. Together, Gloria and Bill moved to Sylmar CA in 1957 where they began a family. Gloria was an active participant of her children's PTA, including being a board member. Gloria, Bill, and their three children moved to Selma OR in the winter of 1978. Gloria was known for her appraisals, purchases, and sales at the Cave Junction Flea Market that she began business with husband Bill in Cave Junction in 1986. After the passing of Bill, Gloria continued the business until she closed the doors in 2002. Gloria enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading, watching cooking shows and spend time with her family. Gloria is survived by two sons, Kris Sherman, of Selma, who is the Maintenance Battalion Chief with the Illinois Valley Fire District and Doug Sherman, of Medford, who is employed by Zoll's Small Engine Repair. She is also survived by a daughter, Cathy Odom, of Medford, who is employed by Grange Coop. Other survivors are 2 daughters in law, 1 son in law, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
