Gloria Ruth Allsup

Gloria Ruth Pelett Allsup passed away on April 15, 2015. Born on July 14, 1925 in St. Boniface Manitoba, Canada. She was the first of five children born to Gordon Hiram Pelett and Rita Elliott Benson Pelett. Her family moved to Oregon when she was in her early teens. She, her husband and children moved to Grants Pass in 1963. She was a strong and positive influence on her children, overcoming many obstacles throughout her life. She was a three-time can- cer survivor; a fighter to the end; she died of natural causes. Gloria is survived by son, James and wife, Linda, Medford, Ore.; daughter, Kathryn Pittman and husband, Duane, Tenino, Wash.; daughter, Diana Irwin and husband, Hal, Kerrville, Tex.; grandchildren, Joseph Siewell, Cody Abas, Jacob Allsup, and Susan Snow; four great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Pelett and wife, Barbara, Port Angeles, Wash.; brother, Walter Pelett and wife, Pam, Portland, Ore.; and special family friend and for- mer daughter-in-law, Patty Allsup. She was predeceased by brother, Gordon David Pelett and sister, Patricia Pelett Burbach. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 30. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. The family wishes to express their gratefulness to the caring and loving staff at Grandma's Care, where Gloria's final time was made so special, as well as the caring staff from Asante Hospice, who were there to help her through her final days.
