Glenn A. Rose, 79, of Grants Pass died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at his home. A memorial service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Stephens Family Chapel. Private burial will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 S.E. Eighth St., Grants Pass, OR 97526; or to a charity of the donor's choice. The youngest of eight children, he was born July 12, 1931, in McCune, Kan., to George A. and Rosa Belle (McGuire) Rose. He graduated from Girard High School in Girard, Kan., in 1950. In January 1951, he enlisted in the Navy and he served in the Korean War. He was stationed in San Diego and Guam before his discharge in January 1955. On June 17, 1956, in San Diego, he married Mary Jane Taramasco, who survives. While living in San Diego, he worked as an electrician for Rohr Corporation for 17 years. In 1972, he moved his family to Grants Pass, where he worked as an electrician for Southwest Forest Products until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed camping, fishing, restoring old cars, woodworking and spending time with his English setters. He especially enjoyed his family. In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Kimberly M. Roeser; a son, Brian S. Rose; a brother, Roy; and four grandchildren. Four brothers, Earl, Jack, Floyd and George, and two sisters, Wilma McCabe and Nola Kennedy, died before him.
