George C. Vierra, 77 of Rogue River passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, Oregon No services are planned. George was born on January 12, 1937 in Providence, Rhode Island to Manual & Rose Vierra. He served in the US Army from May 18, 1954 until his honorable discharge on May 2, 1957. On May 15, 1976 in Reno, Nevada he married Margaret Ward who survives. Together they moved to Rogue River in 1997. George worked most of his life as a professional bass player. He worked with artist like Merle Haggard, Tanya Tucker, Little Jimmie Dickens and Willie Nelson. George loved playing music, and woodworking. In addition to his wife Margaret Vierra of Rogue River survivors include brother Mannie Vierra of Puyallup, WA, sister Rose Cox of Campbell, CA, brother Gilbert Vierra of Arizona, Sister Gertrude Vierra of Brentwood, CA and brother Frank Vierra of Brentwood, CA. His daughter Holly Ann Vierra preceded him in death in 1995.
