January 23, 1944 — December 4, 2009

Gary Earle Fisher, 65, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2009, at his home in Grants Pass. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Stephens Family Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.garyefisher.com. Gary was born on January 23, 1944, in Sacramento, California, to Earl and Bettie Knight. Gary graduated Cupertino High School in 1962 and received his Associate in Arts at Foothill College. Afterwards, he started “The Burl”, a burlwood furniture business in California. In 1977, he moved with his family to Grants Pass where he became a successful real estate developer. In 1984, Gary started Towne Centre Real Estate until he sold it in 1992. Thereafter, Gary was semi-retired and continued with various real estate dealings in Grants Pass. Gary enjoyed fishing, skeet shooting, drag racing, and many other outdoor activities including his favorite past-time, tending to his yard. Gary is survived by his two sons, Lenny Fisher of Grants Pass, Bret Campoy of Santa Rosa, California, and his sister, Renate Frates and her husband Charlie of Sequim, Washington. Others include his former wife Sandy Fisher McKenna of Grants Pass, his significant other, Kay Thoulion of Rogue River, and his mother-in-law, Virginia Skelton. Gary’s strong faith in God and his savior helped him to go through life’s passages with compassion and grace; he is now with his Father in heaven.
