Frederick Alan Wieler

Frederick Alan Wieler, 84 of Wilderville passed away December 23, 2012 at his home. Visitation: Thursday, January 3rd from 9:30AM-11:00AM at Stephens Family Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM at Jerome Prairie Bible Church with Pastor James Downing, Officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery Friday, January 4th. He was born on January 18, 1928 in Aurora, Illinois to Frederick and Dorabell Baldischweiler. In 1944 he joined the United States Navy and served until his honorable discharge on May 13, 1946. Frederick went on to work in the aircraft and missile division with Bendix, Federal Electric and Boeing until he retired in 1991. On June 12, 1946 in Sun Valley, California he married Sherry Lou Smith; she preceded him in death on June 17, 2008. After his retirement they moved to Grants Pass from Lompoc, California in 1992. Frederick was a member of the Jerome Prairie Bible Church. He loved music, he could play just about any instrument by ear, but guitar was his favorite. He played in a Country and Western Band in his younger days. Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Estes and April Balfour both of Grants Pass; 5 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
