Fred D. Galloway Sr.

Fred Dale Galloway Sr. 79 of Grants Pass passed away, Thursday September 13, 2012 at Carl's House Adult Foster Care Home in Grants Pass. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, 10:00 AM at Merlin Community Baptist Church with Pastor Everett Denniston Officiating. Contributions: Charity of your choice. He was born on August 25, 1933 in Canute, Oklahoma to William and Dorothy Galloway. In the late 1950's he moved to Southern Oregon from Oklahoma. Fred married Carleen on July 19, 1980 in Grants Pass. He enjoyed horses, Trail riding, raising and teaching. He raised Quarter Horses for many years. Fred was a member of Merlin Community Baptist Church, Josephine County Sheriffs Posey for 27 years he was President in 1994. He was also a member of the Rogue Valley Cutters Club and a past president. Fred and Carleen where coaches for St. Mary's and Rogue River High School Equestrian Teams. In addition to his wife survivors include son, Fred Galloway Jr.; daughter DeeDee Emari of Las Vegas, NV; daughter Deborah Faszar of Grants Pass; daughter Lori Dabich of Grants Pass; son Kerry Galloway of Veneta, OR; son Darrell Galloway of Georgia; daughter Donna Leighton of Michigan; sister Ruth Kimmel of Grants Pass; brother Elmer Galloway of Texas and sister Juanita Maupin of Oklahoma; 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
