Evelyn Elizabeth Hendrickson

Evelyn Elizabeth Hendrickson, 90, of Grants Pass died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Wings of Love Adult Foster Care in Grants Pass. A funeral service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Stephens Family Chapel, with Ken Bern, pastor, officiating. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hendrickson was born June 29, 1919, in Coleridge, Neb., to Albert and Elsie Frerichs. After graduating from Harrington High School in Coleridge in 1936, she moved to Southern Oregon. On Feb. 18, 1939, in Yreka, Calif., she married Elmer H. Hendrickson, who died before her. Throughout the years, she attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Redwood Country Church and Calvary Lutheran Church. As a homemaker, she enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Hendrickson of White City, and Don Hendrickson of Grants Pass; a daughter, Eloise Demeter of Santa Maria, Calif.; three sisters, Mildred Gavel of Springville, Calif., Ruth Gilmore of Grants Pass and Iola Hawk of Eugene; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. A son, Kenneth Hendrickson, died in 1990.
