Elizabeth "Betty" Hotchkiss

Betty Marie Hotchkiss, 92, of Grants Pass passed away March 16, 2011 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center in Grants Pass. She was born on March 1, 1919 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Joseph and Elizabeth Puchle. In January 1940 in Detroit, Michigan she married Norman E. Hotchkiss Sr., he preceded her in death in 1975. Betty was a true Rosie the Riveter" working on planes during WWII. She then worked for Sears from 1970 until her retirement in 1990. September 11, 2002 she moved from Victorville, California to Grants Pass. She attended St. Anne Perish in Grants Pass. She loved volunteering for underprivileged children, crocheting and ceramics. Survivors include two sons, Dennis Hotchkiss of Grants Pass and Norman Hotchkiss Jr. of Lavonia, MI; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband her son Gary Hotchkiss preceded her in death in 1999
