Eleanor Leone Allard, 91, lost the ability of making red blood cells, which caused severe anemia, which caused her heart to stop on Christmas day. She passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011, at Fair View Transitional Health Center in Grants Pass. Per her wishes no services are planned She was born on July 23, 1920 in Valley City, North Dakota to Orville and Ruby Chapin. She was raised in Daly City, California. Later she married her husband William Norman Allard he preceded her in death. Together they moved to Boulder Creek, California. They purchased and operated a 200-acre ranch. In 1979 they moved to Grants Pass where they purchased a smaller ranch for their retirement years. Eleanor worked as a Dental Assistant then later in life enjoyed being a cook in restaurants; she owned and operated restaurants in the Santa Cruz Mountains. She loved working with animals and was always available to help people and animals in need. Survivors include two nephews in California and one nephew in Nevada; her extended daughter Michele Hardy of Rogue River; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She will be missed greatly by all family and friends
