Edward George Jacob Sr was born in Mount Vernon, New York on January 1, 1952 to Marjorie Enke and George Jacob. His life began with a bang by being the first baby born in Mount Vernon in 1952.
Edward grew up in Pelham, New York and remained there and in Connecticut for much of his life. He worked for New England Building Products as an insulation installer for many years, but also devoted time to his hobbies, which included rockhounding, hiking, collecting matchbox cars, taking road trips, listening to music, and riding motorcycles. He was also a member of the Carpenter's Union. Edward traveled the country extensively and enjoyed himself immensely along the way. Eventually, he moved from New York to Kingman, Arizona, choosing a home base that allowed him better weather to engage in the outdoor activities that he loved so much. The only thing he loved more was his family and his dog.
Edward passed away in Grants Pass, Oregon on March 7, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie Enke and George Jacob; his sister, Linda (Jacob) Tanzi; and his brother, Robert Jacob.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Audrey (Jacob) Caristo and Jason Caristo; his son, Edward Jacob II; his grandchildren, Piper and Roland Caristo, and Noah, Sarah, and Elijah Jacob; and his dog, Olive Devine.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Mojave County, Arizona in Edward's name, to help care for the four-legged friends he loved so dearly.
