Edward Paul Gagnon, 70, of Merlin died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at his home.A celebration of life was held at First Christian Church. A second celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville, Calif. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. He was born June 10, 1939, in Williamstown, Vt., to Geddas and Louise Gagnon. On Dec. 21, 1962, in Manchester, N.H., he joined the Air Force. After serving in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged on Sept. 14, 1966, at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif. He then worked for the Civil Service as a jet tool room attendant at Travis AFB until his retirement in 2003. In 2004, he moved to Merlin from Fairfield.He was a member of First Christian Church and a Master Gardener. He enjoyed gardening and wildlife.Survivors include a daughter, Laurie Formentera of Lancaster, Calif.; three brothers; a sister; and a granddaughter.
