Ed Norris

Charles Eddie "Ed" Norris, 77, of Grants Pass died Sept. 15, 2008, at Three Rivers Community Hospital. Private family services will be held. He was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Birmingham, Ala., to Newton and Beatrice Gillis. During the Korean War, he served in the Navy. In 1977, in Reno, he married Barbara Johnson, who died before him. For many years, he worked as an electrician and a maintenance man. He retired in 1978. In 2004, he moved to Grants Pass from Modesto, Calif. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and cooking. Survivors include five sons, Richard, Russell and Rodney Norris, all of Grants Pass, and Mike and Steve Norris, both of Alabama; a daughter, Debbie Ledbetter of Tampa, Fla.; two stepsons, Steven Bryant and Brian Norris, both of Modesto, Calif.; a brother, Daniel Norris of Fayetteville, Ga.; a sister, Anne "Sissy" Harris of Alabama; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
