Dr. David Beattie

Dr. David James Beattie PhD, 68, of Grants Pass passed away Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 16th at 1:00 PM, Jerome Prairie Bible Church with Pastor James Downing officiating Contributions: The Voice of the Martyrs â€" P.O. Box 443, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74005 He was born on August 10, 1939 in Fall River Massachusetts to James and Annie Beattie. David married Krisdean Moore on August 15, 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received a B.S. in Horticulture from the University of Rhode Island in 1961; Masters Degree in Horticulture from University of Vermont in 1964 and his PhD in Horticulture from Michigan State in 1977. David spent 29 years at Penn State as the Associate Professor of Ornamental Horticulture retiring in 2006. He was a member of many Plant and Perennial organizations. He was also a member of Jerome Prairie Bible Church. He interest was his work with plants, perennials and green roof research. Survivors include his wife Krisdean Beattie of Grants Pass; Daughter and son-in-law Maryellen and Thomas Plummer of Grants Pass; Sister, Susan Garland of Klamath Falls, Oregon and Two Grandchildren.
