Dorothy Corbaley Devi

Dorothy Corbaley Devi, 79, of Grants Pass died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at her home. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at Calvary Crossroads Church with Bob Bonner, pastor, officiating. A dinner reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 S.E. Eighth Street, Grants Pass, OR 97526; or to Calvary Crossroads Church, 1051 S.E. “M” Street, Grants Pass, OR 97526. Devi was born April 19, 1931 in Watertown, Massachusetts. In her early 30's she moved to California where she operated a mail order business with her husband. In 1995 she re-located to Grants Pass. She became a devoted follower of Jesus Christ in her early 50's. Shortly, thereafter, she embraced a ministry of prayer and prayed faithfully for our community members, our churches and around the world everyday. She became a nurturer to many who needed encouragement and caring. She will be sorely missed by those of us who knew she was always in our corner cheering us on. She loved to read, especially the Bible. She would often say, “If people would just get into the Bible five a minutes a day...”. She also enjoyed watching old movies, gardening, t.v. shopping and cooking. She leaves no survivors but those of us who were blessed with the gift of her friendship will hold it as a treasure always.
