Dorothy LeeUna Austin, 81, of Grants Pass passed on Sunday October 25th, 2015, at her Foster home. She is survived by her daughter Sherry Crump and spouse Tim of Grants Pass; Her Grandchildren Carrie Soler and spouse Bryan of Grants pass, David Garcia of Torrance California and Brittney Crump of Hermosa Beach California; 2 Great Grandchildren Austin and Dayton Soler of Grants Pass; Stepson Bob Walker and spouse Francis Mooney of Fredericksburg Virginia; Sister Norma Greene of Fort Bragg California; and many many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bunny Austin; Sister Marie and brother William Jr.; and her parents William Raymond and Carrie Mae Wright. Lee was the youngest of four born in Lenoir North Carolina on October 28th, 1933. She moved to California when she was 18 years old and lived with her Sister Norma and her family in Manhatten Beach California. She was married to her first husband, Richard Bedford Walker in 1954 and had a daughter that first year. In her mid 30s, she met the man of her life and married Bunny Austin. Lee managed the Hawthorne Bowling Alley and taught bowling for many years. She loved to throw parties at her home, always had the latest trendy jokes to tell, played poker, cribbage, and rummy. Her favorite pass time was playing card games. She loved sports and played basketball and softball. Lee was a big fan of the L.A. Lakers and the Dodgers. She resided in Hawthorne and Carson, California for much of her life. Lee also worked at Northrop Aircraft in the stockroom where they built assemblies for 747's. She retired in the 1990's. She moved from Southern California to Grants Pass in 2010 to be closer to her daughter. A service will be held Monday, November 2nd at 5pm at Stephens Family Chapel in Grants Pass. In lieu of Flowers, you can make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in her name.
