Doris "Granny" Doughty, 83, of Williams died Oct. 4, 2010, at her daughter's home in Weed, Calif. A celebration of her life will be held Oct. 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Sylva's Restaurant in Weed. Doughty was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Albany to Levis and Harriet Morgan. She attended school in Siskiyou County. On Aug. 22, 1968, in Reno, Nev., she married Robert Doughty, who survives. They moved to Southern Oregon in 1967 from Weed. She was a member of College of the Siskiyous Eagle's Nest Volunteers and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Democratic Women's Association. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, crafts, reading, Indian Powwows and going to casinos. In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Robert Bedsworth of Arizona, and Larry Swearingen of Pacific, Wash.; a daughter, Gail Breshears of Weed, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A son, Orin Swearingen, died in 2009.
