Donald L. Gavello

Donald Louis Gavello, 75, of Grants Pass died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford. No services are planned. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1200 N.W. Naito Parkway, Suite 220, Portland, OR 97209. He was born June 7, 1935, in Richmond, Calif., to Elton and Beatrice Gavello. He served in the National Guard and earned an associate's degree from John F. Kennedy University. On July 25, 1981, in South Shore, Nev., he married Barbara Mae Fly, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in 1995 from Concord, Calif. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, fixing things, traveling, computers and his three dachshunds. In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Timothy Gavello of Antioch, Calif., and Michael Graham of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; two daughters, Cheryl Barrett of Concord, Calif., and Leslie Martin of Lawrenceville, Ga.; a sister, Barbara McCauley of Martinez, Calif.; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
