Deward G. Pitts

Deward G. Pitts. 87 of Grants Pass passed away, Wednesday September 12, 2012 at his home in Grants Pass. Private Interment has been held at Eagle Point National Cemetery. He was born on September 26, 1924 in McGill, Nevada to James and Saphronia Pitts. Deward served in the United States Army from his enlistment on March 30, 1943 until his honorable discharge on February 21, 1946. In May 1945 in Ely, Nevada he married Helen Burnett, she passed away on October 18, 2008. He worked for Latchford Glass Company in Los Angeles, CA for 35 years retiring as a maintenance supervisor. They moved to Grants Pass from Southern California in 1986. He was a past member of Kiwanis and current member of River Valley Community Church. He enjoyed taking care of his wife and family, fishing and Breakfast at Herb's La Casita. Survivors include his son Joel Pitts of Grants Pass; brothers Cliff Pitts of Las Vegas, NV and Ted Pitts of Sparks, NV; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
