Dawn Ione "Dee Dee" Caropreso, 55, of Grants Pass died Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Three Rivers Community Hospital of a stroke. Services will be held at a later date. Caropreso was born July 9, 1953, in Burbank, Calif., to Herman Schleth and Patricia Daley. In 1957, her mother married Jerome Daley, who raised her as his own. They lived in Fortuna, Calif., and Riverside, Calif., before moving to Rogue River in 1965. In 1971, she graduated from Rogue River High School, where she was a cheerleader and played softball and volleyball. In 1973, she married Michael Caropreso and they later divorced. She lived in North Bend, Grants Pass and Los Banos, Calif., before returning to Grants Pass in 1990. She was an in-home health caregiver for Senior Services. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, caring for her cats and birds and spending time at the river. Survivors include two sons, Michael Caropreso II of Sonora, Calif., and Ryan Caropreso of Grants Pass; a daughter, Angelina Huba of Renton, Wash.; her mother, Patricia Daley of Grants Pass; a brother, Patrick Daley of Grants Pass; a sister, Suzi Francis of Rogue River; and three granddaughters. A grandson, Michael Caropreso III, died before her.
