David Allen Straus

DAVID ALLEN STRAUS, 66, of Grants Pass died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at his home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9th 3:00 PM at Redwood Christian Church, Grants Pass. David was born, April 1, 1945 in St. Paul Minnesota. He moved to southern California at the age of 15, where he graduated from Aviation High School. He joined the Marines upon graduation and served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. In 1969 He moved to Grants Pass, where he married Judy A. Lee, April 20 1973. David was a welder/fabricator for Copeland Paving Sand and Gravel for 23 years. He enjoyed camping, outdoors, hunting, exercise and spending time with his family. Survivors include three children Dina Libby of Salem, OR, Ryan Straus and Melissa Sigston of Grants Pass, 3 grand children, Cameron, Alexandra and Jenna, two sisters - Jackie Fulbright of Huntington Beach, CA and Linda Passalaqua of Modesto, CA. He was preceded in death by his brother Mitchell Straus and his parents Hazel & Gordon Straus.
