David Ralph Snyder was born on March 22, 1954 in Elmira, New York. His family eventually moved to Oceanside, California where he grew up and graduated from Vista High School. David attended Cal Poly San Louis Obispo earning a degree in Journalism which became the catalyst to his engineering career when he was hired to create a user manual for a pipe bending company which was distributed internationally. David has shared many memories over the past 35 years working in southern Oregon for wonderful company's including Team Electronics, Litton Guidance Systems, Litton Applied Technology, Pacific Scientific Instruments, HACH Analytics, and most currently MetOne Instruments. He felt a huge sense of pride in going above and beyond at work, and his coworkers fondly labeled him "the go-to-guy". David married his first wife Virginia Ridgeway and together they had two children Jessica and Collin before divorcing in 1999. David met the love of his life, Sharon while working at Litton Applied Technology and they were married on March 21, 2004. David was adventurous and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed flying competitive radio control airplanes, bike riding, fishing, exploring mountain lakes and rivers, and frequent trips to the coast and different casinos along the way. David loved photography and captured some of the most beautiful images during the adventures he and Sharon shared. David was known for his amazing photo screen savers at the office and beautiful custom family calendars and birthday cards. David loved taking the dogs for walks on the beach and in Reinhart Volunteer Park on the weekends. David especially treasured spending time with his family and friends. David is survived by his loving wife Sharon Snyder, his parents Ralph and Marjorie Snyder, Brother Paul and wife Lisa Snyder, Daughter Jessica and husband Aaron, son Collin and wife Charity and grandchildren Delaney, Jett, Journey, and Owen who he was so excited to meet this coming December. David touched many lives during his 61 years, and will be missed SO MUCH by all of us. We will remember him for his steadfast dedication to family, generosity, kindness, want to help others, and contagious smile. We would like to invite family, friends and coworkers to celebrate his life and share the many memories and stories of David on Sunday August 30th, 2015 from 3-5pm at Reinhart Volunteer Park in the Harry and David Shelter. In place of flowers, the family has set up the âDavid R. Snyder Memorial Fund' account at Washington Federal Bank to accept donations. It is the hope of the family to place a bench or plaque along one of David's favorite walking paths in his memory with these donations. "Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow. May looking back in memory help comfort us tomorrow."
