David Samuel Chambers, 84 of Grants Pass passed away suddenly at home on June 28, 2014. There will be a private memorial at a later date. Arrangements by Stephens Family Chapel, Grants Pass, Oregon. David was born April 15, 1930 in Dunsmuir, CA to Grace and David Chambers. He moved to Grants Pass in the early 40's where he was employed as a logger and heavy equipment operator. David assisted in the building of many local roads throughout Josephine County. He was in the Army but was assigned to the Air Force during the Korean War. In 1967 David joined the Operating Engineers Local 701 and retired from Copeland Sand & Gravel in 1992. He spent his remaining years camping and fishing with family and friends. David will be remembered for his willingness to take on jobs that others wouldn't want to attempt. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years - Bonnie. David was the proud Father of Danny, Bobbi Freeman and Debbie Hodgson - all of who mourn his passing. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and his brother, Mike Chambers of Crescent City, CA.
