Dave Madden

David Ray Madden, 53, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Three Rivers Community Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at River Valley Community Church with David Mathis and Jim Brumback, pastors, officiating. He was born to Richard and Marge Madden on May 21, 1955 in Willits, Calif. He served in the Marines from 1976 until he was honorably discharged four years later. Madden moved to Grants Pass, where he married Virginia Davison in O'Brien on March 8, 1980. He attended Rogue Community College and earned a degree. After college, they moved to Modesto, Calif., where he worked until 1996 and they moved back to Grants Pass. He worked for Rural/Metro Fire Department as fleet manager for the past six years. He was also a member of the River Valley Community Church. He also enjoyed working around his home, camping, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and playing horseshoes at family get-togethers. In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Jason Davison, David Madden and Jacob Madden, all of Grants Pass; mother, Marge Madden of Grants Pass; brothers, Dan Madden of Cave Junction, Richard Madden of Caldwell, Idaho, and Larry Madden; sisters, Terry Madden of Cave Junction and Shirley Hubbs of Caldwell; and six grandchildren.
