Cyrus Kutz, 86, of Williams died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at his home. No services are planned. He was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Watonga, Okla., to Cyrus and Elizabeth Kutz. He served in the Merchant Marine from 1944 to 1948, including service during World War II. For more than 40 years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator. On Feb. 3, 1985, in Reno, he married Gloria Ellingwood, who survives. They moved to Southern Oregon in 1986 from Reno. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting. In addition to his wife, survivors include three stepchildren, Michael Fleming of Williams, Charlene Santini of Merlin, and Marlene Navarro of Susanville, Calif.; and five grandchildren. His first wife, Harriet Kutz, died in 1980.
