Colleen Kay Sharer age 71, of Grants Pass passed away on November 30th, 2021, at home.
Colleen was born to her parents, Elsie, and Richard, in 1950 in Woodburn, Oregon, and moved to Grants Pass in July of 1962 with her parents and five siblings. During High school, she attended western Mennonite, after graduation, she went to New Hampshire as part of Mennonite Voluntary Service where she worked in a nursing home.
In 1972, she married Edwin Sharer and settled in McMinnville, Oregon, they had three daughters together, Marjorie (1975), Charleen (1977) and Lindsey (1983). Colleen cared for her family and worked hard alongside her husband on their dairy farm, where she was known for her expertise in calf raising.
Colleen settled back in Grants Pass in 1993. She worked at MasterBrand for 21 years until her retirement in 2019.
Colleen was an avid gardener. She enjoyed raising and arranging her flowers behind beautiful and creative arrangements for her family and friends. Foots Creek Chapel (where she was a member) was blessed every Sunday by her beautiful flower arrangements.
Survived by her mother, Elsie Mengerhausen; Charleen Sharer and Lindsey Share; brothers, Gary Mengerhausen (Janet), Bill Mengerhausen (Karolyn), Don Mengerhausen and Roger Mengerhausen (Lisa), sister, Joan Lammers (Tim); four grandchildren; and many neices and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her father RIchard Mengerhausen; brother Bob Mengerhausen; sister-in-law, Kathy Mengerhausen and Theresia Mengerhausen; and great niece Isabele Schutz.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Freedom House through options, 1057 SE Clarey Ave, Grants Pass.
