Clarence G. Johnson, 89 of Grants Pass passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007 at his home in Grants Pass Oregon. Private services will be held at a later date. Johnson was born on January 18, 1918 in Clyde Park, Montana. On August 10, 1941 in Bozeman, Montana he married Shirley Reiss who survives. Johnson was a WWII and Korean War Navy Veteran having served in the South Pacific during the Tarawa and Eniwitok campaigns. After the military he became involved with radar technology and worked for RCA at Pt. Mugu Naval Air Station in California and for Federal Electric / ITT at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. He retired in 1982 and relocated to Grants Pass the following year. He was a member of the Grants Pass Golf Club from 1984 to 2004. He enjoyed fishing along with his love of golf. He was also a past member of The Village Country Club from 1969 â" 1983 in Lompoc, California. During his later years, digital photography, grape growing, wine making, and computers became passionate hobbies also. In addition to his wife Shirley, survivors include sons, John and Marlene Johnson of Buena Park, California, Tom and Vicki Johnson of Lompoc, California, Bob Johnson of Grants Pass, Daughter Debbie and Alan Young of Reno, Nevada, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a sister Margie Place of Santa Monica, California.
