Chris Albert Erickson, 59, of Grants Pass died Sunday, June 1, 2014, as the result of an automobile accident in Grants Pass. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. at his home, by the pond. For more information, call 541-659-9158. Erickson was born April 6, 1955, in Inglewood, Calif. He grew up in Torrance, Calif., and attended Torrance High School. In 1976, he moved to Oregon, where he built a log cabin in Williams and started a family. He moved back to California for work and helped his sister with the family business as a drapery installer. He later moved to Lake Havasu City, Ariz., where he worked as a carpenter and lived next to his brother. In 2006, he moved to Grants Pass to live with his daughter and help care for his parents. He enjoyed being involved with the Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association, Branch 9, and the Pioneer Days Antique Engine and Tractor Show in Pottsville with his brother-in-law, Chuck Steinhaus. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his mother, Cecilia Erickson; three daughters, Heather Saunders, Kasandra McCoshum and Jamie Lawless; a sister, Regina Steinhaus; two brothers, Curtis and Jon Erickson; and three grandchildren. His father, Willard Curtis "Red" Erickson, died in 2008.
