Chewie Reed

Steven Douglas "Chewie" Reed, 43, of Grants Pass died July 23, 2008, in Grants Pass. Private family services will be held. Stephens Family Chapel is in charge of arrangements. He was born April 18, 1965, in California to Michael and Kathryn Reed. His family moved to Grants Pass in 1970 from Manhattan Beach, Calif. He attended local schools, including North Valley High School. For many years he worked in the construction trade. He enjoyed the outdoors, rafting, collecting rocks, spending time with his son and helping people. Survivors include a son, Kevin Reed of Grants Pass; his mother, Kathryn Watson of Grants Pass; his father, Michael Reed of Watsonville, Calif.; his stepfather, James Watson of Grants Pass; and a sister, Lisa Reed-Mazzola of Grants Pass.
