Grants Pass resident Carol Conger (83) passed away peacefully at The Lodge at Countryside Village on August 8, 2022.
Carol was on born on September 23, 1938, to Charles and Muriel Kelly. She was the only girl with three brothers. She graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1956. She was married to Arthur L. Conger on November 13, 1956, and together they raised one daughter, Pamala. In June 1978, she received her Associate in Arts degree from Mira Costa Community College in Oceanside, California.
Carol was a devoted wife to Art who was in the Navy and transferred to many locations. They began their married life in the beautiful island of Bermuda. They were stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, and eventually moved to Oceanside, California. After Art retired from the Navy and Veteran's Administration, they moved to Susanville, California. Eventually, both Carol and Art decided to move back to their hometown of Grants Pass in the late 1990s.
Carol enjoyed gardening and took pride in the beautiful flowers she planted. Both Carol and Art were active members of River Valley Church in Grants Pass. Carol loved teaching Sunday School to children and both Art and Carol were active in adult Bible study groups.
Carol loved to have fun, and she and Art traveled in their retirement years. They could have gone anywhere, but their favorite spot was the Oregon Coast and they visited Cannon Beach and Seaside often. Carol and Art could often be found hosting a game of cards or other fun games.
Carol enjoyed spending time in California with her daughter Pamala and granddaughters Cody and Samantha.
At the time of her passing, she is survived by her daughter, Pamala; granddaughters, Cody and Samantha; brother, Larry Kelly; and sisters, Paula Jordan and Glenda Kelly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation (alz.org).
Carol will be laid to rest with her husband in a private interment at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon.
