Carol Lee Bray, 71 of Grants Pass passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, Oregon. Services have been held. Interment will take place Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Felton Cemetery in Felton, California. For online condolences and tributes please visit stephensfc.com. Arrangements by Stephens Family Chapel, Grants Pass, Oregon. Carol was born in Los Angeles, CA on October 26, 1942 to Dallas and Marjorie Aardappel. She lived and grew up in Fillmore, CA from the time she was of school age until her marriage. After high school graduation, she attended nurses training at the California Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing for three years, earning her RN Diploma. A year later she returned to school to get her Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health Nursing from Chico State University. In 1966 she married William Bray from Chico and worked as a public health nurse in San Diego and Orange counties while her husband attended college. In 1972 she and her husband became part of Campus Crusade for Christ at their headquarters in Arrowhead Springs, CA. During this time, they adopted their two children. In 1976 the family moved to Santa Cruz County, CA, where they lived for 25 years. During this time Carol worked as an on-call library clerk for the Santa Cruz Public Library System. Carol's hobby was genealogy research. She loved helping others with their research, and she volunteered for 9 years at the Family History Center. In 2001 William and Carol retired and moved to Grants Pass, OR. They are members of St. Innocent Orthodox Church in Rogue River, OR. In additions to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Jeni Bray of San Jose, CA; son, Matthew Bray of Susanville, CA; 6 grandchildren.
