Eldridge "Bud" Armstrong, 87, of Grants Pass died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Granite Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 S.E. Eighth St., Grants Pass, OR 97526. He was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Chamberino, N.M., to Jim and Daliah Armstrong. He served in the Army during World War II. In 1946, in New Mexico, he married Dorothy Lee. They moved to Grants Pass from New Mexico in the early 1950s and they divorced in 1970. He worked for Murphy Creek Lumber for more than 25 years. On Dec. 15, 1977, in Grants Pass, he married Berthe Autry, who survives him. He enjoyed carpentry, tinkering around his property, fishing, hunting and yard sales. In addition to his wife, survivors include five children, Sam, Doris, Dennis, Terry and Kathy Armstrong, all of Grants Pass; three stepchildren, Pam Cooper and Roy and Mike Terry, all of Grants Pass; 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
