Bob Whisenant

Local author, poet and long time resident, Robert “Bob” L. Whisenant, died Monday March 16th, 2009 at his residence. No services were held. Donations may be made to Family Friends at 322 N.W. F street Grants Pass, OR. 97526 Phone; 476-4248. Bob was born August 8th, 1930 in Tatum, New Mexico to Clovis and Maybelle Whisenant. He graduated from Tatum High and after some time, entered the military. He was a Korean War veteran. He worked for Southern Oregon Plywood in Grants Pass for about thirty years. After the closing of the mill, Bob put himself to work writing. His good nature and humorous spirit is apparent in his written work. He is survived by his daughter Tahni, three grandchildren and his brother, Roy Whisenant of Grants Pass.
