Alice May Reeder, 68, of Grants Pass died Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Asante Three Rivers Hospital. Funeral arrangements are provided by Stephen's Family Chapel. Services will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. She was born Alice May Buckner, January 28, 1946, in Van Nuys, California. She moved to Santa Paula, California in her teens, where she attended Santa Paula High School. While living in Santa Paula she met her husband of 36 years, John Reeder. Alice and John moved to the Fillmore/Piru, California, area to raise their two children Edward and Vickie in the early 80's. She spent the majority of her life there, until she and John moved Ventura, California for a number of years, and then on to Grants Pass, Oregon, in 2006 to be near her daughter and grandchildren. Alice had a kind heart and enjoyed working with people and animals. She spent her adult years as a youth minister, a juvenile counselor helping youth that were in residential programs, and counseling drug affected mothers and their children. She also worked for and volunteered her time with the Humane Society, caring for and training dogs, which she truly loved. She left a lasting impression on all those that had the privilege of crossing her path. She loved the ocean and beach and would spend as much time there as possible. Alice is survived by her husband John Reeder of Grants Pass, Oregon, her son Edward Reeder of Santa Paula, California, and daughter and grandchildren Vickie Scott and Jacob and Jenna of Portland, Oregon.
